520			_aTHIS book has been written in the hope that it will be found useful to bank men and others who are beginning the study of the law and practice of English banking, and particularly to students who are preparing for the Part I Examination of the Institute of Bankers. With this object in view, a large portion of the book has been devoted to cheques and bills, and the Bills of Exchange Acts, 1882, 1906 and 1917 have been given in full in the Appendix.
