520 _aIt is a matter of pleasure for me to present the Ninth Edition of the book, Principles of Administrative Law, in the hands of the readers. It has provided me an opportunity to revise the book and bring it up-to-date. Since the last Edition, several important cases have been decided by the Court. Imtiyaz Ahmad v. State of Uttar Pradesh, (AIR 2012 SC 642); N.K. Bajaj v. Union of India, (AIR 2012 SC 1310); Shekhar Chandra Verma v. State Information Commissioner, Bihar, (AIR 2012 Pat. 60); Chief Information Commissioner v. State of Manipur. (AIR 2012 SC 864); Municipal Corporation of Delhi v. Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy, (AIR 2012 SC 100); Siemens Ltd. v. Siemens Employees Union, (AIR 2012 SC 175); Girish Vyas v. State of Maharashtra, (AIR 2012 SC 2043); Narvada Bachao Andolan v.. State of Madhya Pradesh, (AIR 2011 SC 1989); State of Jharkhand v. Ashok Kumar Dangi, (AIR 2011 SC 3182); Bangalore City Cooperative Housing Society Ltd. v. State of Karnataka, (AIR 2012 SC 1395) (May 2012 Part), Chandigarh Administration through Director P.I. (Colleges) v. Usha K. Waie. (AIR 2011 SC 2956); Grid Co. Ltd. v. Sadanand Doloi, (AIR 2012 SC 729), etc. are notable. All these cases have been stated at the appropriate places in the book. As earlier in the selection of the judicial decisions, statutory provisions and other materials, the author has exercised his full discretion. Whatever materials have been considered by the author as relevant for the readers have been included in the book. Every effort has been made to avoid errors or omissions; however, inspite of it, there may be errors or omissions in the book. If they come to the knowledge of the author, they will be rectified in the next edition of the book. The issue on which the relevant materials are scattered and required to be collected from different places in the book, an attempt has been made to state them, in brief, at one place and to discuss them in detail at the appropriate places in the book. This has been done even at the cost of repetition of materials because, in the opinion of the Author, it is quite useful to the readers.
