520 | _aThe first task which our Party would like to accomplish will be to change the present National Anthem of the country. The National Anthem symbolises our prayer to seek the blessings of Almighty before the start of any good venture. That is why it is necessary to change the present National Anthem. The National Anthem composed by the renowned poet Rabindra Nath Tagore is dedicated neither to God nor the Jan-Gan, the people of India. It was composed and sung to honour the British Emperor George V. Today, all its lines, therefore, lack relevance and are rather ignonimous. It should be replaced by 'Vande matram' the immortal composition of Shri Bankim Chandra Cattopadhyay. There are many other good compositions and, if need be, many more can be composed to choose from. Our Anthem should be well-worded and well-meaning so as to carry our prayers and lofty sentiments to the lotus feet of God. The present National Anthem is ignonimous and incapable of the task. This is one of the reasons why the country is not able to forge ahead. | ||
