The publication of this collection has the purpose of familiarising the Indian public with the Soviet Gov ernment's proposals on concluding a peace treaty with Germany and settling the question of West Berlin on this basis. The compile of this collection assume that the reader, after attentively studying the materials publish ed, cannot but share the Soviet Union's point of view that the solution of the German problem which it has advanced serves as a good basis for extinguishing the sparks of a fire which can break out in West Germany, a conflagration which could afterwards spread through out the world. The compilers of this collection also took into account that the propaganda of the Western powers, striving to mislead the world public, is grossly distor ting the Soviet Union's position on the German ques tion. The present collection provides the Indian reader with the opportunity of studying the position of the Soviet Union on all the principal aspects of the German problem from first-hand sources. | ||
