The accident rate has risen alarmingly; nearly 85,000 people get killed and 5,25,000 are injured in about 4,50,000 road accidents every year. In spite of this, the average driver's knowledge remains insufficient to meet the growing demands upon him.
Author experience in the field of traffic management and transportation has prompted his to bring out the essentials that a driver- of a car, taxi, bus, truck tanker, two wheeler, whatever - must be aware of in order to discharge his social responsibility safely. The information is not new; it is available in hand books, government publications, training booklets, brochures, etc., but so scattered that it is almost impossible for a common man to have access to all of it easily. He have complied it all in a single volume for easy access.
The book is being periodically revised to incorporate various amendments.
