Summary: There are several areas that need immediate and continuous attention by Government through Public Participation: Migration of misery and impoversihment has to be viewed with a perspective outook the perspectives of as development change with time and requirements of the population. Generally, the development issues should focus on the demands/needs of majority of the population through participation for conflict resolution. Empowering of oppressed, women participation in CBOS and PRIS are some of the major issues that are getting attention these days. Child labour has grown to such a proportion that we can't eradicate it under given circumstances but facilitate to mitigate their suffering. Population growth in the Third World is casting its long shadows and eclipsing the little development achieved in different spheres. Literacy is the key that opens new vistas of development for mankind. More so, functional literacy specifically to women is the order of the day. The contributors in this volume have brought together their experiences, discussing about various developmenal aspects in their own perspective and suggested some practical solutions. This book will be quite useful to demographers, social workers and development practitioners seeking solutions to field problems.
