It was established in Delhi on 20th January 1987, under the name "Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan" as a society, and after being shifted to Ujjain in May 1993 in memory of Maharshi Sandipani as "Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidya Pratishthan". The Hon'ble Minister of Education, Government of India is the Chairman of this organisation.
