Training manual for youth in social harmony and national unity - Sriperumbudur Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development 2008 - 224p.

India is a land of myriad religions, races, beliefs and customs having a multi-layered history on one
hand and endless tribulations on the other. Today the youth of the country need to be oriented
about the rich cultural tradition, history and constitution of India to nurture in them the love and
affection towards their motherland. The National Youth Policy 2003, has given a direction to the
youth of the country to address the issues of Communal Harmony and National Unity. In order to
instill the cherished secular values and pluralistic traditions of our country, RGNIYD set up a
division called Social Harmony and National Unity. The absence of a training manual on Social
Harmony and National Unity made RGNIYD take up this task. The current manual is an outcome
of a series of brainstorming sessions, consultations, seminars and workshops.
