The present book is designed to touch almost every important aspect of environmental economics. The book contains valuable contributions of resource persons as well as teacher participants in the sphere of the most innovative theme on the nature and dimensions of environmental economics. The book contains altogether twenty-three papers divided into six parts.
Part I presents an overview of the nature and dimensions of environmental economics. Part IV is related to the vital question of environment and ecological degradation, its features as well as its impact vis-a-vis legislative measures and judicial response to protect environment. Part V addresses to some of the important questions relating to the sources and effects of environment and pollution. Part VI concludes I with some distinct focus on the issues as to how environmental degradation can prudently be managed for establishing a socially just and ecologically sound and sustainable process of development.
