International relations theory : western and non-western perspectives
- New Delhi Vikas Pub. 1980
- 245 p.
The theoretical development of international relations has, so far, been presented as primarily a product of West European and American Scholarship. This volume redresses the imbalance by treating, in a series of contributions by Western and Indian Scholars, the Marxist, Maoist and Third World perspectives alongside the western traditions of theorizing in international relations. The Third World view of trans-nationalism and the relevance of theory together with western thinking about theory are also presented.
Professor James N. Rosenau, a leading scholar in the theoretical study of international relations and responsible for many theoretical formulations, leads the list of well known scholars who have contributed to this volume.
