<br/><br/> This book is intended for academics, civil ser vants, and businessmen interested either in business investment decisions or in the effects of public poli cies on those decisions. The first chapters present a theoretical framework in which to examine the in vestment and financing decisions of large corpora tions, taking account of the uncertainty under which such decisions are made. The framework is then used as a basis for assessing the effects of in vestment allowances, initial allowances, investment reserve schemes, monetary policy, and special tax measures relating to industrial research and the development of extractive industries. Several chapters use empirical evidence derived from de tailed case studies and an extensive mail and inter view survey of decision-making in large Canadian corporations.
