Over the decade or so, there has been unprecedented and alarming growth of rate of disputes over service matters which are generally projected through representations and appeals under Classification, Control & Appeal Rules and more oftenly through the medium of writ petitions under Article 226 of the Constitution of India (Corresponding Section 103 of the Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir). While decisions of various courts of the country including Hon'ble the Supreme Court of India as well as of England and USA etc during the last more than 95 years with particular reference to such disputes touching service matters are reflected in the judgments reported in different books such as AIR, SCC, SLR, SCT, SCW etc. etc., the executive authorities still needed such a compilation just to help them in all such matters. Such a reference book could also prove useful to the authorities exercising judicial authorities so as to save time in view of tremendous load-work.
