<br/><br/> The present book deals with the problems of implementation of rural employment programmes in India. Beginning in the early sixties, these programmes have become a major component of India's strategy for poverty alleviation. The achievements from these programmes, however, leave much to be desired. As the feedback confirms, India has been a poor implementor of its plans <br/>and programmes. Why is there so much gap between the objectives of the rural employment programmes and their eventual outcomes?
