This book will prove equally useful to the Public Undertakings, Government Companies, and other Corporate Bodies. The reason is that the disciplinary rules framed by these bodies are, more or less, on the same lines as the rules applicable to the civil servants, and also because of the ruling of the Supreme Court in 'Sukhdev v. Bhagatram supra that employees of these Bodies are, in effect, entitled to the same entrenched rights regarding disciplinary matters as are available to the civil se ants.
6. The Fourth Edition, now in hand, has been greatly expanded and completely revised. In fact, the whole book has been re-written. The Case law and position of the Rules has been brought up-to-date (On p. 233, you will find reference to the latest amendment dated 11th march, 1987, to the CCS (CCA) Rules]. The dead-wood has been removed and accurate position of law has been given in a precise manner. Two new Chapters, one on the Central Vigilance Commission, and the other on the Administrative Tribunals, have been added. A very carefully prepared Subject Index at the end can be pressed into service to locate the required reference without delay.
