The author, Prof. Bal Raj Madhek, has been connected with R.S.S since: 1938 and with a number of its front organisations particularly Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Bhartiya Jan Sangh since their inception.

As a founder father of Bhartiya Jan Sangh and Vidyarthi Parishad, as editor of the R.S.S Jour nal, Organiser, at a crucial juncture in the life of this orgainsation and as its spokesman in the second and fourth Lok Sabha (House of the people of Indian Parliament) Prof. Madhak is a man who knows. Being a friend and well-wisher of R.S.S, his understanding is sympathetic and approach construc tive. He has combined the roles of a chronicler, critic and reformer in dealing with an orgaisation which is known to be allergic to any kind of comment, leave aside crititicism.
