Yuri Popov concentrates on an analysis of the newly free countries' socio-economic prob lems and the influence exerted on their de velopment by the policy of imperialism. He expounds on the basic concepts of political economy, the formation of the young states' economic structure, their agrarian reforms, in dustrialisation and economic planning. The author offers a critique of the neocolo nialist conceptions of the socio-economic de velopment of the newly independent countries.
