The preser book deals with the question of access to the sea for the lund-locked states. It is the first study of its kind and it provides new and fresh perspective on the policies of the lend locked states. Since the second world war the problems of the land Jocked states have increased. This has resulted from the proliferation of the land-locked states as part of the decolonization process, particulary in Africa, and the need for those countries to participate actively in the world trading system without fear of interference with their transit-trade. The book makes a broad as well as a critical study of the relationship between the land-locked state and transit state and Nepal's policy for the access to the sea and other related facilities. It describes the Nepalese role and attitudes in the international forums for access to the sea and transit facilities for her progress and advancement. This book is divided into seven chapters with a source of reference and bibliography. The book would prove useful to the makers of foreign policy of the states and other scholars.
