The author presents an in depth analytical study of the Economics of Indo Nepalese Cooperation on the three major aspects viz. Trade, Aid and Private Foreign Investment. After critically re viewing the trade treaties signed till date, he examines the trends in the value and composition of Indo-Nepalese trade. He traces the crucial causes of Nepal's balance of trade deficit and puts forward some interesting corrective measures. He then gives focus on the recent irritants in the trade relations.

The author has done an extensive study of India's aid to Nepal and its effi cacy in the economic development of Nepal. He has further elaborated his study on absorptive capacity of Nepal and the reported leakages in the aid utilization. While analysing the poor participation of Indian private investment in Nepal, the author comes out with various useful suggestions to improve this aspect of cooperation. He has identified certain potential areas of joint ventures in Nepal, This book will be useful to all those scholars, researchers, policy-makers, private investors and traders concerning not only Indo-Nepalese Cooperation but also to a large extent other third world landlocked countries.
