Terrorism in India - New Delhi South Asian 1990 - 266p.

Terrorism as a form of political violence has raised its ugly head in India and in several parts of the world. For governments and societies such as India which are wedded to the principles of a liberal democracy the threat posed by this virulent form of protest is challenging its very founda tions. Hence, serious study of the phenomenon of terrorism needs to be undertaken with a view to analysing its various ramifications and, in the process, of finding ways and means of controling it.

In the present volume some dis tinguished scholars, publicists, admini strators and police officers examine the problem of terrorism in India. It will contribute to a better understand ing of the problem and would act as a spur both to the government and to the public to unitedly grapple with this menace without sacrificing the rule of law and other principles enshrined in our constitution.
