The emergence of human rights has yielded manifold benefits to man, both visible and invisible to the naked eye. For example, the human rights impact has been to pave the way for the unity of mankind by promoting the concept of brotherhood of the human race, irrespective of national boundaries within which men and women live today. Another important aspect which has emerged is the emphasis placed on the individual and his rights which had hitherto been a somewhat neglected subject of study. Human rights are viewed today collectively as well as in relation to the individual human being. This leads to the creation
of a common interest borne out of a common outlook of man as a human being irrespective of national boundaries. This deve lopment has tended to eradicate the rigour of nationality which had become a dominant feature of human existence with the emergence of the nation state some centuries back. The fact that a man is a human being first and foremost irrespective of where he is born to live is indeed a welcome development.
