<br/><br/> The paper "Resources, Employment and Development Financing: Producing Without Destroying; The Case of Brazil" was presented by Prof. Ignacy Sachs at the CENDEC International seminar, held in Brasilia in1988. The author, through the example of Brazil, puts forth an interesting thesis that there exist the possibilities for accelerated growth that could be sustained through relatively modest volume of investment but based on better management and maintenance of the existing production <br/>systems and avoidance of and recycling the wastes. This calls for combining the frugality of rural societies with modern scientific and technical knowldege<br/>
