<br/><br/> This volume sets out the proceedings of a National Seminar on Employment Expension in Indian Agriculture held in Bangalore in February 1979. Included are also the papers prepared specifically for this seminar and the report of a technical seminar on labour absorption in Indian Agriculture held in New Delhi, in January 1979, which went as an important input to this seminar.<br/><br/>This was the first in a series of country seminars that the Asian Employment Programme of the ILO has planned to sponsor in the countries of South and South East Asia with a view to promote informed discussion among researchers, administrators and policy makers on the possibilities of expanding productive employment in their overwhelmingly agricultural economies.
