Partners in Tomorrow brings together the views of twenty-seven prominent thinkers from the developed and developing world on the process required to bring about a more equitable international order. In Part the present status of the North-South dialogue is assessed, future prospects appraised, and the areas in which negotiations between rich and poor countries should focus are iden tified. Part II deals with a range of special problems on both international and national levels, all of which have a great bearing on the creation of a fairer world. The publication of Partners in Tomorrow coincides with the launching of numerous new and important initiatives designed to bring the rich and poor countries closer together. As such, this book may contribute both sub stance and direction to these initiatives and through them may help to give concrete shape to a global development strategy for the coming decades.
