The book is divided into three sections: the first is a brief analysis of the assumptions, motivations and style of India's foreign policy, based mainly on the foreign policy speeches of the Prime Minister of India; the second, a discussion of the various attempts made at different levels for progress in the direction of integration and India's experiences with them; the third, a somewhat analytical interpretation of the problems and prospects of Indian participation in regional integration in South Asia.
