This volume is the consequence of a national seminar hosted by the Center for International, Strategic and Development Studies, Mumbai to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the United Nations in October, 2005. The theme selected was, India's contribution to the United Nations. It has been widely recognized that in the evolution and functioning of the United Nations system during the last six decades India has made commendable contribution to the United Nations, through the efforts of its government, and the work of Indian scholar, soldiers and international civil servants.
