My Life: Law and Other Things is a captivating autobiography of Motilal, who was the first Attorney General of independent India. This book poignantly tells the tale of the man’s journey as a lawyer and a judge who had to cross many a hurdle in his professional life, and the emotional conflicts between his professional and personal stances. Motilal was close to Sardar Vallabhai Patel and was asked by him to represent the Indian National Congress at the Radcliffe Tribunal. Motilal was a top lawyer in Bombay High Court then and refused all the titles including the Justiceship of the court as well as a knighthood from the British.
