| Summary, etc. | Rural reconstruction and development are by their very nature linked to agricultural development in India, since land and water based occupations involving crop and animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry constitute the basic industry of rural India. Village uplift and the socio-economic transformation of rural society hence must be based on agricultural needs and potential. This book presents a comprehensive picture of Integrated Rural Development and offers suggestions on the specific areas in which programmes for development can be initiated and successfully implemented. Each chapter concerns itself with a specific theme and offers practical and workable suggestions for qualitative and quantitative improvement in all spheres of rural development.
