Summary, etc. | Issues of privatisation and market liberalisation have come to dominate the policy agenda in many countries, both developed and developing. However, so far there have been few studies analysing international experience<br/><br/>This volume examines and critically assesses the outcome of privatisation policy in developed and developing countries. A series of case studies reviews the performance results in eastern Europe, Latin America, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa and also considers the UK experience with the regulation of privatised monopolies.<br/><br/>The individual contributors are recognised authorities in the field of privatisation policy, and have been directly involved with the implementation of privatisation and market reform in the various countries included in the case studies.<br/><br/>Paul Cook is Senior Lecturer in Economics at the School of<br/><br/>Economic Studies, University of Manchester. Colin Kirkpatrick is Professor of Development Economics at e Development and Project Planning Centre, University of Bradford. |
