Watersheds not only the key to erosion control, water hold storage and thus drought alleviation and a flourishing agriculture and agroforestry but are critical to downstream users as well. Despite their importance, the role of water sheds in land use policies and management has often been overlooked. Policy and Practice in the Manage ment of Tropical Watersheds 1s intended to address this omission.<br/><br/>In a unique combination of theory and practice, Dr. Pereira examines the issues of agriculture, animal husbandry, water for both household use and energy generation, and fuelwood in the context of tropical watersheds.
