| Summary, etc. | What prompted me to recount my experience both as a member of the Bar and Bench was, primarily, the feeling that one can rise in life to the highest office without any strings by sheer honesty, sincerity and hard work. In the course of journey I had some experiences both sweet and bitter. While in Supreme Court, I did not feel very happy in some matters, like transfer of judges. Today it has lost much of its venom yet its impact was very grave. I had completed this book within a year of my retirement except the last two chapters but I did not get it published for certain personal reasons. However, since the evening of life is descending fast I have been persuaded by my friends to let it go to press.<br/><br/>I must thank Mr. Justice Srinath Sahay who was kind enough to go through the manuscript. I am also thankful to Mr. Y.P. Chopra who is responsible for getting the book published. Thanks are due to Mr. Rakesh Kumar who was my secretary in Supreme Court and Mr. Vishal Kulshreshtha who is with me since retirement.<br/><br/>I am thankful to the publishers M/s Universal Law Publishing Co.
